Introduction
This manual is published by Infinity Professional Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/380225/07), trading as Mediceuticals South Africa ("the Company"), in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"), as amended by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). It explains how a requester may obtain access to records held by the Company, and how the Company processes personal information.

2. Information Officer
The Company's Information Officer is responsible for encouraging compliance with PAIA and POPIA, dealing with requests for access to records, and dealing with requests and complaints relating to the processing of personal information. All requests under this manual, and all POPIA-related correspondence, should be addressed to the Information Officer at the contact details in section 8 below.
3. Guide by the South African Human Rights Commission
The Information Regulator has, in terms of section 10 of PAIA, published a guide containing information to assist a person wishing to exercise any right under PAIA. That guide is available from the Information Regulator:

4. Records held by the Company
The Company holds the following broad categories of records, some of which contain personal information:

5. How to request access to a record
A requester who wishes to obtain access to a record of the Company must complete the prescribed form (Form 2, "Request for access to record of private body") available from the Information Regulator's website, and submit it to the Information Officer at the contact details in section 8. The request must provide sufficient detail to enable the record to be located, indicate the form of access required, and indicate the right the requester is seeking to exercise or protect (where PAIA requires this).
6. Fees
The Company will process requests in accordance with the fee structure prescribed under PAIA. A request fee may be payable before a request is processed, and an access fee may be payable if a record is provided, calculated in accordance with the prescribed tariff published by the Information Regulator / Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. No fee is payable for a request for a requester's own personal information, except as PAIA may otherwise prescribe.
7. Grounds for refusal
The Company will only refuse access to a record on the grounds permitted under PAIA (for example, protection of the privacy of a third party's personal information, legal privilege, commercially sensitive information, or other statutory grounds). Any refusal will state the reasons. A requester who is dissatisfied with a decision of the Company may apply to the Information Regulator or a court for relief.
